Innodata Upgrades Computer Laboratory for School Children in the Philippines
Innodata’s team in Legazpi, Philippines, refused to allow COVID-19 challenges last summer to stop them from providing regular maintenance to a computer laboratory Innodata previously donated to Kilicao Elementary School (KES).
In June 2021, Innodata Legazpi’s volunteer team headed to KES to inspect the computer laboratory, which houses twenty workstations. During the visit, Innodata met with KES teacher Mr. Jason G. Forte and discussed the emerging challenges brought about by the current remote learning system the school has implemented.
During this visit, Mr. Forte explained that the school was battling unstable internet connectivity, which caused teachers to struggle with holding virtual classes for their students without any technical issues.
Armed with this knowledge, Innodata assisted the faculty by setting up three mesh devices that enable Wi-Fi connection throughout the entire campus. The team also upgraded all computer units to Windows OS to help ensure seamless virtual schooling for both the teachers and students.
The Innodata Legazpi team continues to regularly connect with the KES faculty to ensure the computer lab is running smoothly and the children have the proper infrastructure and resources in place to enable their education.
